How We Treat
Movement
We treat using a variety of different modalities. But our main tool that we use is movement. People came to our clinic because of an injury, for a movement that hurts, because they want to prevent further injury from happening or optimize their current movement - so let’s get you up and see how you move, this will help us hone in on how to treat you!
Individual assessment
We treat the person in front of us, not just the injury. Our assessment and treatments are individual to each person that comes in, resulting in feeling better faster and getting back to doing what you love sooner!
Manual Therapy
Our fantastic manual therapy and palpation skills aid in achieving our number one goal: optimizing movement for better performance. Better movement helps improve injuries and can prevent them too. Some manual techniques used by our therapists include: therapeutic cupping, AISTM, joint mobility, myofascial release and craniosacral therapy.
Simplicity
In our clinic, we do not have any electric or ultrasound machines. We like to keep things simple and be able to send you home with exercises and movements that you can do on your own and/or with your own home equipment.
Homework!
Movement is a part of our assessment and treatment and most likely going to be a part of your homework too. Movement assessments and treatments can include: sport specific, joint specific, muscle strength and flexibility, balance, posture, etc.
Long-term relationship
Our goal is to get you active and keep you active, so our treatments are not a one-time occurrence. Once healed, preventative treatment is key to healthy movement.

FAQ
What is an Athletic Therapist?
Athletic Therapists specialize in preventing, assessing, and treating musculoskeletal injuries. Athletic Therapists are also trained in on-field emergency response. If you get injured in your sport, we assess your readiness to return to play, provide support with tape or other materials, and offer sport-specific rehabilitation to ensure a safe and effective recovery.
Can you help me prevent injuries?
Yes! At Momentum, we focus on injury prevention by assessing movement and biomechanics to optimize performance. Biomechanically the bones and joints work together and react to each other depending on the movement, sport or activity you are completing. Taking a look at your movements during your activity can give an indication if you need help preventing injury. Also, coming in for treatment before injury (like when it first starts coming into your awareness), can prevent it from getting worse.

There is overlap in the scopes of practice for Athletic Therapists and Physiotherapists, but we also differ in some areas. “I started seeing Kerri Dunsmore for treatment after my serious paragliding accident in the summer of 2024, and I’m incredibly thankful she took me on as a client. From the moment I stepped into her clinic, it was clear that Kerri is both passionate and highly skilled in her work. Her holistic approach focuses on finding the root of my injuries rather than simply addressing the symptoms, which has been a real eye-opener for me. The thorough injury assessments, combined with her hands-on manual therapy techniques made a difference in my recovery journey. If you’re looking for an athletic therapist who will genuinely help you recover and give you the tools to stay active and prevent future injuries, I can’t recommend Kerri enough. Her deep knowledge, commitment to individualized care, and supportive environment have been invaluable to me. I’m so glad I found her!”
